Companies must redouble their efforts to make flexible work arrangements available to employees who can and wish to work from home. The Government can do its part to nudge enterprises in this direction through tax incentives and by leading the way through Civil Service human resource policies. MP Gerald Giam, who made this call in Parliament on Tuesday (Aug 3), said this is one way to bring Singapore closer towards gender equality. He also suggested streamlining immigration procedures for foreign spouses of Singapore citizens and giving more support to single parents.
