How will a public parcel locker network affect market competition and how was IMDA subsidiary Pick created and contracted to run it, asked MP Gerald Giam in Parliament on Monday (Apr 5). He wanted to know if Pick is expected to be profitable and if not, how much IMDA is budgeting a year to subsidise its operations. As public funds have been used, he said the network should spur innovation, such as with cold or hot lockers for grocery or food deliveries, or dual-function ones to return items or deposit e-waste. Mr Giam also asked if residents in condominiums and landed estates will be served.
