Golden Village to close Plaza Singapura outlet in Aug after 28 years as mall revamps

After 28 years, Golden Village will close its cinema halls at Plaza Singapura in August to accommodate the mall's upcoming renovation plans. Some other businesses will also be moving out of the complex, despite being offered alternative mall units by the developers. The owners said this is because of high rental costs or unfavourable locations. Plaza Singapura's current redevelopment will be its fourth major one since it first opened in 1974.
