Indranee Rajah on personal income tax relief cap for working mothers
The S$80,000 personal income tax relief cap was introduced to make Singapore’s personal income tax system more progressive. Currently, the relief cap of S$80,000 does not affect the vast majority of working mothers, including those with more children. Minister in the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister for Finance Indranee Rajah, who highlighted this approach in reply to an MP’s question in parliament on Thursday (Sep 10), stressed that supporting Singaporeans in starting and raising families is a top priority for the government.
