Singapore must act decisively to stop the upward trajectory of workplace fatalities, said MP Melvin Yong. Speaking in Parliament on Tuesday (Jul 27), he urged the Government to review if there is a causal link between the safe management measures imposed at high-risk worksites and the rise in workplace accidents and fatalities. Mr Yong also wants to see more attention given to the mental health of migrant workers who have been grappling with isolation, as well as professionals, managers and executives who have been working from home and could be facing mental health issues and tensions.
