Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim on reasons for HDB BTO applicants not booking a flat
Applicants for Build-to-Order flats are not required to provide or justify their reasons to HDB if they choose not to book a flat when invited. However, the most common reasons shared have been the following - their preferred units were taken up, they had decided to go for resale, or they had changed their minds and wanted to apply for a flat in a different sales exercise. Minister of State for National Development Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim said this in Parliament on Tuesday (Mar 21) in reply to an MP’s question. He also reiterated details of the new policy in which first-timers who give up the chance to select a flat will lose priority for a year. This will take effect from August.
