She Builds COVID-19 Translator To Help Doctors Treat Foreign Workers In Singapore

With increasing cases of COVID-19 among migrant workers in Singapore, 24-year-old Sudesna Roy Chowdhury - a recent graduate of the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine - built doctors and nurses a website to help bridge the language gap. The website provides Bengali translations of common phrases for checking COVID-19 symptoms, medical history and past interactions. It has been translated to Tamil and other languages are in the pipeline: Hindi, Telugu, Sinhalese, Malayalam, Malay, Mandarin and Thai.
