The amount of biohazardous waste in Singapore surged by about 50 per cent compared to 2019 volumes due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With mass vaccination kicking off, waste collectors are injecting more resources into handling such waste, which includes swabs and syringes. Vanessa Lim reports.
