NTUC to use S$200m to scale up Company Training Committees, help 45,000 workers across 600 SMEs

The labour movement plans to use S$200 million in government funds to scale up its Company Training Committees, or CTCs, from the company level to industry-wide. The goal is to help 45,000 workers across 600 SMEs. The CTC grant helps firms raise productivity, redesign jobs and improve work prospects. As of today, more than 10,000 workers have benefited from the CTC initiative and CTC grants. Meanwhile, Singapore Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong also called on the National Trades Union Congress to attract more members. NTUC has more than 1.4 million members and is on track to hit its 1.5 million-member goal by 2030. Caitlin Ng reports.
