Scientists in Singapore have created one of the most detailed maps of the developing human brain. The team at Duke-NUS Medical School says these maps show how neuron connections can grow, a finding that could pave the way in the treatment of Parkinson’s Disease and other brain disorders. Two authors of the study, Dr Hilary Toh, an MD-PhD candidate, and Dr John Ouyang, Principal Research Scientist, explain its global significance, what the map can reveal about the brain and the possible types of brain disorders this study might be able to treat.
