Sun Xueling on MOE studies on school start times and students' sleep habits

The Ministry of Education (MOE) has commissioned two studies on the factors that impact students' sleep quality and duration. Minister of State for Education Sun Xueling, who said this in reply to MPs' questions in Parliament on Tuesday (Aug 3), added that this will enable MOE to better understand how later school start times may lead to quality and longer sleep. She said MOE is looking at giving more guidance to schools on start and end times. MOE will also need to work with parents to improve sleep hygiene and manage the load on students, as well as their use of digital devices.
