Sylvia Lim on empowering women

Singapore has seen progress on female participation in political leadership since the first women were elected on the ruling party ticket in the 1984 General Election, said MP Sylvia Lim in Parliament on Tuesday (Aug 3). However, she said even now, all political parties can do more. At the same time, society must embrace policies that will make it conducive for women to step up in a sustained way to contribute to their full potential, including in public life if they wish to.
