Tan See Leng on review of validity period of in-principle approvals for foreign workers

The Government is reviewing the validity period of in-principle approvals for foreign workers, as uncertainty over the COVID-19 pandemic in source countries has led to a significant increase in the number of workers waiting to enter Singapore. Second Minister for Manpower Tan See Leng, who said this in reply to MPs' questions in Parliament on Tuesday (May 11), said actual entry approvals are given separately, based on factors such as Singapore's risk quota and available quarantine facilities. He said the Government is very mindful of the manpower crunch and is taking steps to ease the problem.
