Vikram Nair on empowering women

Many of the obstacles currently faced by women in attaining equality are difficult to solve as they involve changing not just laws but societal attitudes and invisible barriers or glass ceilings, MP Vikram Nair said in Parliament on Tuesday (Aug 3). He hopes that findings from the Conversations on Women’s Development will be converted into concrete action plans. To that end, he sought an amendment to the motion on empowering women that was filed by Workers’ Party MPs.
