Louis Ng on Income Tax (Amendment) Bill
The proposed tax changes will make for a fairer and more efficient system, and support Singapore's growth across a whole slew of sectors, said MP Louis Ng. Speaking in Parliament on Monday (Oct 3), he sought clarifications on several aspects of the Bill. One relates to information sharing by the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) with public officers and other authorised people. He wanted to know under what situations will such action be warranted, how IRAS will obtain "express consent", as well as the frequency and intended usage of the information shared. He wanted to know if Government bodies will ask for a blanket agreement without providing such details.Â
