Low Yen Ling on managing shortage of manpower in biotech sector

Singapore expects its biotech sector to grow by eight per cent per annum, said Minister of State for Trade and Industry Low Yen Ling. Replying to an MP's questions in Parliament on Tuesday (Feb 7), she said the Government is addressing the biotech sector's manpower needs in several ways. Firstly, it will expand the talent pipeline. Secondly, it is nurturing talents who not only understand the science, but also have the capabilities to commercialise, fundraise and scale up their business. Thirdly, the Government is supporting the industry's needs for scientific talent.
