Baey Yam Keng on use of infant car seats
The Ministry of Transport has no plans to work with hospitals to further increase access to the use of infant car seats, said Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Transport Baey Yam Keng. Replying to an MP’s question, he said the requirement to use appropriate child restraints in private vehicles is a long-standing one which parents are generally aware of. He noted that the Traffic Police have partnered KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital to educate the public on the issue and such collaborations have further raised awareness, especially among new parents. Mr Baey spoke in the House on Wednesday (Mar 22).
