This week, another celebrity returns to her hometown to visit her parents. This time, the traveller is Shoko Haida, who used to perform in Takarazuka and then became an emcee for children’s shows on NHK TV.
She starts her two-day journey from the Metropolitan Government Office in Shinjuku and will walk for about 30km to her parents’ house in Kunitachi. Her parents have a music studio and conduct lessons for children. Her first stop is a McDonald’s outlet at Marronnier Square. It is her favourite fast food joint and she gets some french fries, which she enjoys at a park nearby. She then continues walking and passes by Eifuku Station, which is along the Inokashira Line. By now, she has walked for 3.5 hours and covered a distance of 7km. She then drops by a bakery. Its bread is freshly made at a factory behind the bakery. The bakery’s speciality is Takaido Dog, which was created for office workers rushing to work in the morning. As many as 100 Takaido Dogs are sold each day. This week, celebrities take a walk down memory lane as they return to their hometowns. The first TV star is a member of the popular comedy duo known as Hamaka-n. Hamatani will visit his parents’ house in Iruma, Saitama. He will embark on his nostalgic journey with the other half of Hamaka-n, Kanda.

They say that the early bird catches the worm. So this week, we will go on tours in Izu and Yatsugatake which start at sunrise, to make full use of the perks which are only available in the morning. During the tours, we will also look out for things which can be enjoyed for free in the mornings.

This week, we embark on two tours around Ise-Shima, where the G7 Summit was held in May this year. For the first tour, we will follow in the footsteps of worshippers during the Edo era and walk along traditional roads to Ise Shrine. Along the way, we will look out for interesting spots.

Kamakura is one of the most popular sightseeing cities in the metropolitan area. However, due to this, traffic jams are a common occurrence. Furthermore, Kamakura sits between the mountains and the sea, and has few main roads. This also results in the main streets getting very busy.

Two teams continue their Sugoroku journey around Izu Peninsula in spring. On the second day, the men go to Toi Post Office where they select option B. They have to try three different kinds of crabs. They head to a restaurant where they eat a rare crab of Nishi-Izu, called Geryonidae; a kind of Hanasaki crab; and Suruga Bay red king crab.

We continue our road trip to ports in search of delicious seasonal food. On the third day, we take a ferry to Miyajima. It is one of Japan's top three scenic spots, along with Amanohashidate and Matsushima.

This week, we drive a light truck around Kanmon Straits and visit various ports in search of delicious seasonal food. Along the way, we will enjoy great views of Seto Inland Sea. Our last stop will be the Seto Ohashi Bridge.
