The North and South teams continue their driving trip around Japan while trying different local curries. The former team has to reach Hokkaido at the end of four days while the latter’s goal is Kyushu.
On the second day of this curry adventure, the North team is on its way to Sendai in Miyagi Prefecture to try ox tongue curry. The team arrives at Sendai Station at around 7pm. The curry lovers find out that a diner which specialises in ox tongue, Tanabeya, is located near the prefectural office. The ox tongue meal set was created by Keishiro Sano, whose grandson is now in charge of the 16-year-old restaurant. The ox tongue curry takes three days to prepare. First, the ox tongue is stewed for a day and left overnight, after which oxtail soup and vegetables are added to make the soup base. Later, curry powder is added and the mixture is left for another night. On the third day, the ox tongue curry is ready to be served. This curry is best eaten with barley rice. Hot springs and delicious food await us as we embark on a four-day driving trip around Izu Peninsula. We will travel 260km from Higashi Izu in East Izu to Osezaki, Nishi Izu in West Izu. Begin the trip at Atami and drive along the Jyogasaki Coast towards Ito. You will arrive at Ito Station after 40 minutes. Ito is a popular hot spring town located in the east of Izu peninsula.

This week, two teams compete in a “bingo race” around the Okuhida Hot Spring region. Located at the foot of North Japan Alps, it is one of the most popular hot spring areas. The Hot Spring Sommelier team and the Gravure Model team will visit hot springs while playing bingo over three days.

Their goal is to reach Heiwa no Torii first, and the losing team pays for all the expenses of the other team.
