The men’s and women’s teams continue their tour around Aomori. They will visit even more sightseeing spots and hot springs while completing various missions along the way.
On the second day of this three-day adventure, the women on the Mt. Iwaki route head towards Furou-Fushi Onsen via Hirosaki. Their first stop is Apple Park in Hirosaki city. It is a 20-minute bus ride from Hirosaki Station. Spanning approximately 5.3 hectares, the park boasts 65 kinds of apple trees, numbering 1,300 trees in total. Mt. Iwaki can be seen from an observation deck here. The team’s mission is to 'be an apple girl and do some farm work'. So they drop by the ‘Apple House’ information centre, where there are learning spaces and shops where one can buy apples throughout the year. They rent a traditional farm work outfit for free and learn how to do ‘fruit thinning’, which refers to removing some apples from the trees before their maturity to improve the overall size and quality of the remaining apples. After spending an hour on fruit thinning, the women return to Hirosaki city.
