With a focus on the growing ageing, middle-class and mobile health (mHealth) markets, Medical Fair Asia 2018 seeks to encapsulate these demographics with the latest technology and innovations, products and solutions, and conferences and forums geared towards them.

A record-breaking 1,000 exhibitors from 50 countries, including 23 national pavilions and country groups, will converge at Marina Bay Sands Singapore this month to showcase the latest updates in hospital, diagnostic, pharmaceutical, medical and rehabilitation equipment and supplies.

MEETING GLOBAL TRENDS AND DEMANDS

According to the United Nations, 300 million of the estimated increase of one billion people by 2025 will be aged 65 and above. And with rising life expectancy and significant growth in the middle class, the global mHealth market is set to reach US$10.2 billion (S$13.9 billion) this year, while the Internet of Things (IoT) healthcare market is expected to exceed US$10 billion by 2024.

Addressing these market trends, Medical Fair Asia 2018 will present opportunities for healthcare professionals to stay ahead in the field with product and service innovations. The largest ever since its inception in 1997, the exhibition is the definitive event for all involved in the medical industry to learn, network and do business with others from the South-east Asia region and around the world.

DELIVERING HEALTHCARE INNOVATIONS IN ONE EXHIBITION

Attendees of Medical Fair Asia can expect to see demonstrations of innovative medical products.

Spanning three days from Aug 29 – 31, the exhibition, sponsored by the Ministry of Health, Singapore, will be held at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre.

Future-ready highlights include pertinent presentations from healthcare start-ups aimed at disrupting the healthcare industry and digital health companies at the Start-Up Park. There will also be a Future 4 Health (FTR4H) Digital Health Lounge as well as a Cybathlon showcase that features a brain-computer interface race and a staircase-climbing wheelchair.

Also making its debut at the show is the Community Care Pavilion. Catering to the silver generation, it will showcase mobility devices, telemedicine and health apps.

Over 10,000 products will be on display at Medical Fair Asia 2018, including geriatrics assistive devices, rehabilitation equipment and wearables.

Part of the showcase will include the worldwide launch of CellAED from Rapid Response Revival Research, Australia – an automated external defibrillator (AED) that can be fitted in a mobile phone case; a Reclinable Commode with head and backrest from NTUC FairPrice Co-operative; and a first-in-Asia two-way audio call system for remote healthcare monitoring from BitCare Communications, Singapore.

Medical Manufacturing Asia 2018 – the 4th Manufacturing Processes for Medical Technology Exhibition and Conference will be held in conjunction with Medical Fair Asia to extend the end-to-end experience. Both exhibitions are part of MEDICAlliance, which shares the global expertise from trade fairs MEDICA, REHACARE and COMPAMED under the Messe Duesseldorf Group.
