While your skin may look plump and youthful when you are in your 20s, it is already in the process of ageing.

By the time you hit your 30s and 40s, uneven skin tone, broken blood vessels, pigmentation and fine lines often show up on the face.

Ageing skin looks thinner, duller and less radiant. Additionally, pigmentation and enlarged pores become more noticeable as you age. All these skin issues may leave you looking tired even when you are well-rested.

Whatever your age, healthier-looking skin is possible with today’s advanced technology.

The DRx Clinic’s latest skin rejuvenation treatment, the Intensive Rejuvenation Serum (IRS) + Fractional Micro-Needle RF Programme, combines technology and a skin-boosting ingredient to improve your skin health.

Here, Dr Goh Ching Hoe of The DRx Clinic shares how this treatment programme repairs and revitalises the skin using a unique technology known as PLUSED TYPE Fractional Micro-Needle RF (radio frequency).

What is the IRS + Fractional Micro-Needle RF Programme?

The IRS + Fractional Micro-Needle RF Programme is a one-step treatment targeted to repair and rejuvenate the skin.

The main ingredient in IRS is polydeoxyriboneucleotides (PDRN), a skin booster that promotes collagen regeneration and revitalises dull skin.

The moisturising serum containing PDRN, multi-growth factors and peptides is delivered into the skin using the fractional RF device.

What is the difference between the IRS + Fractional Micro-Needle RF Programme and other skin rejuvenation treatments?

The Fractional Micro-Needle RF is a unique technology from Silicon Valley that targets abnormal blood vessels in the skin and repairs the skin basement membrane. Abnormal blood vessels in the skin can appear as broken blue veins, dull skin and pigmentation.

Selective regional regeneration RF pulse targets these abnormal blood vessels without affecting normal skin structures.

The IRS contains PDRN that is harvested from salmon DNA to improve the thickness of the skin. It repairs and regenerates the skin, as well as reduces inflammation.

This high-performance moisturising ingredient strengthens the skin barrier function and prevents trans-epidermal water loss. It also contains powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatories, promotes cell and collagen regeneration, and revitalises dull skin.

How does the treatment work?

The Fractional Micro-Needle RF penetrates the skin, releasing RF pulses to coagulate the abnormal blood vessels. The non-invasive drug delivery system uses microneedle RF technology to create microchannels, or microscopic openings, in skin tissue for up to few hours, enabling the IRS to penetrate effectively and immediately.

Which target areas are suitable?

The IRS + Fractional Micro-Needle RF Programme can be used on the entire face.

Who is a suitable candidate for the treatment?

The treatment is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin. It can be used to treat rosacea, enlarged pores, skin laxity and thin skin. For patients with melasma, we recommend combining Fractional Micro-Needle RF with laser treatment.

Is it an invasive procedure?

It is minimally invasive. Numbing cream will be applied before the procedure to improve the patient’s comfort level.

Is there any downtime?

The skin may be red for a few hours after the treatment.

When will results be visible?

Patients can expect improvements in their skin texture, pore size, redness and pigmentation. They may see better skin texture a day after the procedure. Improvements will continue over the next four to six weeks.

All medical procedures offered at The DRx Clinic, including the IRS + Fractional Micro-Needle RF Programme, are administered by qualified and experienced doctors.
