Futile wait for ez-link card refund

Futile wait for ez-link card refund

Despite repeated email messages and calls to EZ-Link, a reader says he has not received a refund of his expired card’s value.

I wish to relate my unpleasant experience in seeking a refund of the value in my expired ez-link card.

On April 13, I submitted a form and the card at a customer service counter in City Hall MRT Station. The form indicated that a refund to a bank account would take 14 to 21 working days.

As I did not receive the refund by May, I wrote to EZ-Link. The email bounced because of a full mailbox. I wrote to the company again the next day.

I also called EZ-Link and was told that the officer needed to check with its backroom. An officer replied several days later, saying there was no response from the department overseeing refunds.

I finally received a reply in the first week of June, saying that payment would be made in two to four weeks.

It is the middle of July and I have not received the refund, despite having sent more email messages to the firm.

I hope this alerts readers to EZ-Link’s inefficiency.
