Part of Tanjong Katong Road South collapsed last Saturday, causing a vehicle to plunge into the water-filled hole. The Public Utilities Board said the sinkhole occurred adjacent to its existing worksite, near the junction of Tanjong Katong Road South and Mountbatten Road at about 5 p.m. The driver was rescued by workers and taken conscious to Raffles Hospital, while the affected stretch has been closed for repairs until further notice.
