Lawrence Holmefjord-Sarabi came to Singapore in 2010, becoming the first American pianist to take up a scholarship at the prestigious Yong Siew Toh Conservatory. The year before he graduated, he and his brother Julius opened their first Aureus Academy studio — with Lawrence as CEO and the creative driving force of Aureus Group. Today, they've grown their chain of music schools to almost 30 studios across the island. Lawrence, who is an accomplished pianist, shares what it took to become an entrepreneur — and why creativity, reading widely, and holding on to his sense of family, have been instrumental to his success.
