A 34-year ban on keeping cats in HDB homes is finally being reconsidered. A survey conducted by the Animal & Veterinary Service showed that most respondents agree pet cats should be licensed and allowed in HDB flats. It also showed support for a proposal to sterilize and microchip our community cats to help manage the stray cat population. From June, more discussions on plans to allow cats as pets in HDB homes are set to take place.
