Daily Cuts - Health-related issues surrounding drinking alcohol

The US surgeon general calls for cancer warning labels on alcoholic beverages, following growing research that has linked drinking, sometimes even within the recommended limits, to various types of cancer. He called for updating the labels to include a heightened risk of breast cancer, colon cancer and at least five other malignancies now linked by scientific studies to alcohol consumption. Susan Ng and Hairianto Diman speak with Dr Adeline Seow, Lead of the Cancer programme and Epidemiology Domain at Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, to find out the health risks associated with drinking alcohol.

Daily Cuts - Cost of living tops Singaporeans' concerns ahead of general election

A new survey by Blackbox Research’s sentiment tracker SensingSG has found cost of living to be the top concern of Singaporeans heading into this year’s general election. Concerns over jobs and unemployment came in second, while the state of the economy followed in third place. A quarter of the voters is also undecided on who they will be voting for.
