Daily Cuts - Response to Thai PM Srettha Thavisin's new policies

Daily Cuts - No more 'nicknames' feature on PayNow

Making payments on PayNow is convenient and efficient. But there have been concerns when it comes to the 'nicknames' feature. There have been cases where names of legitimate companies have been used as PayNow nicknames. Scammers then use this to dupe victims into transferring money via PayNow to their own bank accounts instead. But come next year, PayNow will introduce a security feature to protect customers from being scammed. Choo Wan Sim is a representative of the Association of Banks Singapore. She’s also Head of Digital at UOB. She tells Arnold & Andrea how this new safety feature can help stop scams.

Daily Cuts - US President Joe Biden goes to Vietnam

US president Joe Biden has wrapped up a two-day visit to Vietnam, as both countries upgraded ties to the highest level. Mr Biden said that this was not an attempt to contain China. However, Washington and Beijing are at odds on a range of global issues, and Mr Biden has accused China of wanting to reshape the international order to its will. Dr Le Hong Hiep, Senior Fellow, Vietnam Studies Programme, ISEAS - Yusof Ishak Institute tells Arnold & Andrea if this meeting was a win for both countries.
