As electricity bills go up, demand for solar panels is seeing a rise. In the last seven years, Singapore's solar deployment has increased by about 10 times. The Energy Market Authority says the country is on track to achieve its goal of at least two gigawatt-peak of solar deployment by 2030. Andrea Heng and Hairianto Diman, together with Prof Xu Yan, Director, Center for Power Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, explore the installation of solar panels in residential homes and how cost efficient this option is.
