Daily Cuts - Israel-Hamas war rages on as Gaza residents cry for help

There’s been no let-up in violence and strikes on both sides of Israel and Gaza with thousands of casualties already adding up. US President Joe Biden will be visiting Israel on Wednesday, confirmed by US Sec of State Antony Blinken. Diplomatic efforts to negotiate a ceasefire failed, but now talks are focusing reopening the border with Egypt. If agreed to, Palestinians with dual citizenship can leave Gaza and humanitarian aid can flow through. A ground invasion of Gaza by the IDF is imminent. Israel says no truce in south Gaza and has positioned forces at nearly all possible escape routes. Amin Saikal, Emeritus Professor of Middle Eastern & Central Asian Studies, Australia National University and Distinguished Visiting Fellow, RSIS shared the current situation in Gaza.
