Japan will soon have a new prime minister to replace Fumio Kishida, who resigned from his post in mid-August. The ruling Liberal Democratic Party has since named nine candidates in the running for the top job, including a surfer – the son of former PM Junichiro Koizumi – a nationalist and a woman. One of them will be elected on September 27th to be the country’s next premier. Daily Cuts - New 2-year credit counselling pilot programme to help those in debt

According to Credit Counselling Singapore (CCS), there was an 18 percent increase in the number of requests for credit debt in the first half of 2024, compared to the last six months of 2023.
