Justina Pang spent about five years as a police officer, including a year in the special victims unit. She was inspired by her grandfather, a police officer who sustained a gunshot wound while fending off a robbery. But she decided to hang up her crimefighting uniform to prevent an increasingly worrying type of crime — scams. In ‘Destination Anywhere’, Melanie Oliveiro finds out where Singaporeans and Singapore residents can go to check out a major exhibition of the works of award-winning photographer Sebastião Salgado. “AMAZÔNIA: Photographs by Sebastião Salgado” is a multisensory and immersive exhibition comprising over 200 black-and-white photographs by the Brazilian lensman and photojournalist, capturing the beauty and majesty of the Amazon jungle and the indigenous communities. National Museum of Singapore assistant curator Samuel Lee will highlight several of the exhibition’s standout sections, including one where visitors can touch and feel the subjects of some of these incredible photos.
