Ow Yeong Wai Kit is intimately aware of the power of words. Poetry has defined much of his life since his earliest years. His parents were both teachers and his father would playfully test his knowledge of poetry when he was a boy. Wai Kit eventually became a literature teacher himself, and was awarded the 2019 Outstanding Youth in Education Award. He also organised the inaugural National Poetry Recitation Competition in 2023. Wai Kit shares some of the most powerful lessons his journey with poetry has given him.
