The months-long Hollywood writers' strike is approaching an end after the Writers Guild of America reached a deal with major studios and streaming services. We can look forward to late-night talk shows as soon as Sunday, 1 Oct. The union said its 11,500 members can return to work, ahead of their final vote to ratify the contract on 9th October. Daily Cuts - No hype around Great Singapore Sale this year

The Great Singapore Sale took place from June to Sept. But seems like there’s not much hype around it this year! The Singapore Retailers Association says they will no longer organise or invest in marketing campaigns for the event from next year onwards. Instead, they will act as a “coordinating partner”. Simone Morandi, Accenture Song’s Growth Markets commerce lead wrote the commentary on CNA.Asia called, ‘Retail festivals like the Great Singapore Sale have lost their relevance – it was a long time coming’. He says there needs to be something ‘special’ for these sales to be attractive again
