A new mobile phone application Yindii allows diners to buy unsold food from eateries at up to 80 per cent off the retail price before closing time. Launched in Singapore in August, it aims to beef up efforts to reduce food waste by eateries. Hairianto Diman and Susan Ng speak to Louis-Alban Batard-Dupre, co-founder and CEO, Yindii, to find out the logistical arrangements behind coordinating the sale of these leftover food and how the businesses’ revenues may be affected given the big discounts offered.
