The Climate Ambition Summit also took place on the sidelines. It’s also known as the ‘no nonsense’ summit and it’s quite unique with the focus on the ‘first movers and doers’. Also interesting to note that the world’s two biggest polluters - China and the US were not invited to speak. Professor Mark Howden, Director at The Australian National University, Institute for Climate, Energy & Disaster Solutions says no one really knows why US and China were not present.
