Ong, who enlisted for National Service in 2021, kept sketchbooks recording daily activity and training while undergoing Basic Military Training or BMT. A single-volume compilation of these sketchbooks feature experiences and moments of life on Pulau Tekong, interacting with section mates, outfield exercises, bunk life and BMT activities like grenade throwing and being in the firing range.
