SINGAPORE: President Tony Tan Keng Yam hosted tea for 21 first-term Members of Parliament (MP), including Non-Constituency MPs (NCMP), at the Istana on Friday.
The tea reception was held at the Sri Temasek.
A statement from the President's Office said the reception provided an opportunity for President Tan to get to know the new MPs and exchange views on issues affecting Singapore and Singaporeans.
The Speaker of Parliament, Michael Palmer, was also present to introduce the new MPs and NCMPs to the President.
