‘Like family’: Hotel Miramar staff reflect on decades of friendship, memories before final goodbye
After over 50 years of welcoming guests, Hotel Miramar will close its doors at the end of Oct 2025.
Long-time employees have spent more than 50 years there, calling it a second home.
69-year-old senior housekeeping executive Florence Tan (right) started working with the hotel when she was 17. For her, the hotel’s closure is deeply personal.
The hotel opened in 1971 and was one of the few hotels established in the area during the construction boom.
“We feel sad because we have one of the best bosses. We couldn't ask for more,” says purchasing officer Kaval Jit Kaur (centre).
