Bencoolen is currently the deepest MRT station at 43m below ground. But it will be dethroned after King Albert Park station - 50m underground - is completed in 2032.

Buried metres under Bidadari Park is Singapore’s first underground service reservoir. It supplies water to households in the Bidadari estate - that’s 8,800 homes!

Another underground landmark is Jurong Rock Caverns. It stores liquid hydrocarbons and helps free up land space of around 70 football fields.

Not yet. Currently, the government has no plans to build underground homes. But we could still be spending more time underground, as transport options and walkways continue to be built there.
