Louis Ng on Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (Amendment) Bill

The Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (Amendment) Bill will allow the recovery of monies that have been wrongly given, create offences for giving false or misleading information and allow the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore (IRAS) to exercise investigation and enforcement powers, said MP Louis Ng in Parliament on Friday (Feb 16). He sought clarification on the recovery of grant monies that have been wrongly given, and asked if multiple individuals will be prosecuted in relation to a single grant. He also wanted to know what steps will be taken to ensure that IRAS is prepared for the expanded scope of powers.
