Advocates, including former drug users and student volunteers, are using sports, peer support, and creative outreach to steer at-risk youths away from drugs and reshape the conversation around addiction. The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) annual statistics report saw an increase in youth drug abuse even as Singapore’s drug situation remained under control. Andrea Heng and Hairianto Diman find out more about the role of these youth advocates and their significance in tackling the issue of young drug abusers in Singapore. CNA938 Rewind - Former Philippine president Duterte arrested after ICC issues warrant over his 'war on drugs'

Former Philippine president Rodrigo Duterte is under custody after the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued an arrest warrant for crimes against humanity over the brutal drug war that defined his presidency. In the 15-page warrant, the ICC’s three-judge panel said there were reasonable grounds to believe that the killings of drug suspects that Mr Duterte ordered between 2011 and 2019 were “both widespread and systematic”. Andrea Heng and Hairianto Diman speak with Dr Aries Arugay, Visiting Senior Fellow at the ISEAS Yusof Ishak Institute, to look at what lies ahead for Mr Duterte.
