Daily Cuts - Kishida’s out, but who could be in? Japan’s LDP candidates to be the next premier
Japan will soon have a new prime minister to replace Fumio Kishida, who resigned from his post in mid-August. The ruling Liberal Democratic Party has since named nine candidates in the running for the top job, including a surfer – the son of former PM Junichiro Koizumi – a nationalist and a woman. One of them will be elected on September 27th to be the country’s next premier.
