Candidates for Indonesia’s presidency and vice-presidency have been announced with a three-cornered fight taking place – the first in 15 years. The stiffer competition means candidates will have to develop strong programmes to win over more than 200 million voters as they head to the polls next February. But this could also lead to polarisation within Indonesian society. Daily Cuts - What's it like on-the-ground in Gaza?

14 more trucks carrying humanitarian aid arrived in Gaza for the third straight day. This is the second batch of supplies including food, water, and medicine, passing through from Egypt. But other crucial resources like fuel to power hospitals were excluded, amid fears that it could fall into Hamas’ hands. The aid delivered so far, only accounts for 4 percent of what is needed in the region, said the UN. Daily Cuts - A new partnership that gives you a holistic community-legal-social support system

The Community Development Councils (or CDCs) have been helping residents who need legal assistance. But they’re refreshing their programmes to suit our current needs. Along with other partners, the CDCs are now working with the Singapore Association of Social Workers (SASW), to improve coordination between agencies, and better provide residents with a holistic community-legal-social support system. Mohd Fahmi Aliman, Mayor, South East District & Richard Siaw, Chairman of Pro Bono SG’s Law Awareness Committee explains how this new partnership works.

Daily Cuts - Getting your child ready for formal schooling

It’s been more than a year since the ‘Forward Singapore’ exercise was launched. And the goal is to "review and refresh Singapore's social compact". One way the PAP Community Foundation (PCF) is contributing to this renewed social compact is to ensure preschoolers will get a smoother transition to formal schooling. They will also be starting active ageing centres by 2025 to help the elderly. Angela Yang, Director, Professional & Education Development at PCF explains what kind of transition do our preschoolers need to prepare for.
