The Great Singapore Sale, a feature event for the island’s retail scene, is now expanding to present better offers to consumers while assisting businesses on their digital transformation journey. Featuring more than 300 brands, the eGSS: Shop.Win.Experience campaign is not limited to retailers, but includes F&B, hotels and attractions as well.

The Singapore Retailers Association (SRA) has roped in the Association of Singapore Attractions (ASA) to include popular activities for consumers to enjoy a more holistic shopping experience. The campaign will also be part of the Singapore Tourism Board’s nine-month-long SingapoRediscovers campaign. To add broader appeal, the Singapore Furniture Industries Council (SFIC) and Textile & Fashion Federation (TaFF) have come on board as well.

Designed for the savvy shopper seeking the best of both worlds, the national event is running from Sept 9 to Oct 10, and will boost the synergy between online and offline promotions with contests, e-catalogues and lookbooks, as well as augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) experiences.

32 DAYS OF AWESOME DEALS

With all the deals coming your way, it’s comforting to know that all the information can be found in one place. GoSpree.sg is the eGSS gateway platform for all shopping activities happening during this period. You can also snag eCoupons and stay updated with flash deals from the many brand partners featured.

GoSpree.sg loads up the promotions under Shop, Dine and Play so all you need to do is log in, pick your deal, download the eCoupon, and then show it at the stores or attractions to claim your discount. For online purchases, select Redeem Online and you’ll receive a promo code for use immediately.

The site also dials up the Win component with an interactive game, Bag it. Complete your mission to add a sure-win prize into your account. Prizes are worth up to S$150,000, including two weekly Golden Bags with S$1,000 gift vouchers from Frasers Property Retail or Singtel.

While GoSpree.sg will undoubtedly be rewarding to the consumers, SRA has created this eGSS site for retailers as well.

”This year’s strategic direction of eGSS 2020 takes into account the circumstances in which the retail industry is operating in,” Mr R Dhinakaran, president of SRA, shared. “Amid the pandemic, agility and adaptability are key drivers and this drove SRA to organise eGSS: Shop.Win.Experience as a means to provide retailers, F&B and tourism operators a unified marketing platform to drive local consumption and help accelerate digitalisation as a channel to engage our millennial customers and win new shoppers.”

By providing a portal that aggregates marketing channels and efforts, SRA is making it easier for business to onboard digitalisation. Companies can quickly set up an online presence, let users browse through their inventory, use eCoupons to create agile promos, and track analytics through the site.

FOR FASHION, FURNITURE AND FUN

Modern shoppers are not just bargain-hunters, but also experience-seekers. This is why GoSpree.sg features VR experiences and activities.

For homeowners looking to improve their abodes, a virtual space on GoSpree.sg called The Furniture Centrum will feature brands like Cellini, Scanteak and Chateau Italia, each with individual showrooms. Scroll and “stroll” through thematic presentations, and shop with just one click.

Rug specialty store, Living DNA, felt an online showroom made perfect sense as homeowners don’t shop in a linear way. “With a home, the husband, wife, kids, extended family, housemates and all have a say. Furnishings selected from across stores also have to match so there’s a lot of cross-referencing that customers do before making a final choice,” founder Denise Kaur said. “An online store lets everyone in the household be involved in the decision for assembling the perfect interior look. We’re very excited that customers can see our rugs at the same time as they shop for their sofas, dining tables and beds.”

Fashionistas get their very own online haven as well. The eGSS LookBook brings you to OneOrchard.Store, where a curated selection of designers are showcased around rotating themes and local attractions. The LookBook captures other lifestyle elements within, so expect dining edits with Insta-worthy settings to show off your new styles.

SAVE AND WIN AT THE SAME TIME

If you’re looking for a daily update of promos, head to Awesome 32 on GoSpree.sg where a headlining mechanic for each day of the week (such as 1-for-1 deals on Mondays) gives you a chance to nab a rare deal, like a S$99 staycation at St Regis or a BMW Active Series Tourer for S$99,999.

Each week under the eCatalogue, you’ll find a special edition that groups discounted buys around a purpose. Whether looking for a gift or locking down on a limited edition, the online catalogue takes you direct to over 500 offers from the likes of Metro, Commune and Harvey Norman.

And if you enjoy personal recommendations, tune in to eGSS Live. Influencers like Fauzi Aziz and Jade Seah will share their shopping habits as well as recommend live-only deals from hansgrohe, Eu Yan Sang and more. On Sep 30, eGSS will go live with Resorts World Sentosa for two hours, and viewers will have the chance to buy 1-for-1 deals on attractions as well as 60-per-cent discounts on hotel stays and experiences.

The Great Singapore Sale, now with a virtual identity as eGSS, is poised to continue its legacy of great savings for shoppers, but now with bigger experiences.
