The Covid-19 pandemic has prompted many countries, including Singapore, to curtail international travel.

Widespread international travel is unlikely to resume until a vaccine is found.

Vaccines are still being tested and scientists estimate that it would be sometime next year before a vaccine could be made widely available.

The International Air Transport Association has also said that global passenger volumes will not return to pre-pandemic levels until 2024.

This means that for many Singaporeans, their passports would have a shorter useful life before expiry.

Will the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority consider a discount on the S$70 fee for the next passport renewal application?
