Chee Hong Tat on ensuring public transport fares are computed accurately
Transport Minister Chee Hong Tat said commuters need to use the same device or card to tap in and out at fare gates and bus card readers. Speaking in response to an MP's questions in Parliament on Friday (Mar 1), he said if a commuter taps in with one device and taps out with another device or card, separate transactions are recorded. Mr Chee said refunds given out when commuters used different devices are two out of every 100,000 trips made on public transport. He added that commuters can check their transactions using the SimplyGo app or at ticket machines and can apply for refunds if they find that they have been wrongly charged.
