Committee of Supply 2025 debate, Day 2: Patrick Tay on uplifting ex-offenders and Yellow Ribbon project
Ex-offenders and inmates hope to be given an opportunity to rebuild their lives with dignity, said MP Patrick Tay. He urged the government to invest in the three Rs - rehabilitation, raising their employability and employment opportunities, and reintegrating them back to their families and the community. Mr Tay wanted to know what the Ministry of Home Affairs has done so far and whether the law can be reviewed to offer them second chances and have their records spent earlier.
