In parliament on Wednesday (Mar 5), MP Melvin Yong called on companies not to co-mingle people and goods at the back of lorries as it is dangerous. He asked if the Ministry of Transport could mandate the separation of goods and passengers when using lorries to transport workers under the Road Traffic Act. He also called for greater enforcement action against companies which do not properly secure equipment on board lorries.
