Janil Puthucheary on regulating mental health professionals

The Ministry of Health is working with agencies, service providers and professional associations to update the risk assessment when it comes to psychological services and patient safety concerns. This includes determining if there is a need for the registration of psychologists to better support the safety and quality of the practice. Senior Minister of State for Health Janil Puthucheary said this in response to an MP's questions in Parliament on Wednesday (Feb 28). He added that the advertising controls under the Healthcare Services Act were put in place to provide greater transparency and protect consumers from being misled by healthcare advertisements which misrepresent the services provided.
