In his second and final presidential candidate broadcast for Singapore's 2023 Presidential Election, candidate Tan Kin Lian noted that the President does not have executive authority over issues such as the cost of living and housing, but can use "soft influence" to bring about change.
In his message, which was broadcast on Wednesday (Aug 30), Mr Tan also apologised again to those offended by his social media posts, saying he would be "more mindful of what I say in the future".
