Tan See Leng on carbon footprint of F1 race, MICE sector
In Parliament on Tuesday (Sep 19), Second Minister for Trade and Industry Tan See Leng spoke about the carbon footprint of the Singapore F1 race, details of which were released in a recent report. The measurement was done for the first time last year and a similar audit will be conducted this year. The organiser of the race has revealed plans to halve its emissions by 2028. For the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) sector, Dr Tan said the authorities are also working with event organisers to start tracking the industry’s waste and carbon emissions starting this year. It is one of the targets set under a sustainability roadmap launched last year.
